Rice Lake Utilities owns and operates an advanced wastewater treatment plant that treats wastewater generated within its service area in the City of Rice Lake and discharges treated effluent to the Red Cedar River. A Facilities Plan showed that the capacity of the existing Rice Lake WWTP for BOD5, TSS, and total P would be exceeded due to projected increases in wasteloads by the year 2030.
